After attending a Crosstown Arts events weeks ago, I was able to pick up local arts newspaper- Number.  Came across an article from Catherine Blackwell Pena which speaks to how I feel WfPAC will make the much needed impact for the artists here, especially the female artists, in the Midsouth:

“But instead of complaining and waiting for someone else to provide opportunities for us, Memphis artists, as a group, need to step up, share their ideas, and actively participate in the process of initiating a cultural shift in our city. Without a doubt, it will be an arduous and lengthy feat that will require innovation, creativity, passion, determination, community, and most of all patience.”  (writer, artist, and Coordinator of Public Programs for Memphis College of Art, Catherine Blackwell Pena.
